National Parks & Wildlife Service
Get a glimpse into station and prospecting life of days gone by in the Courthouse Museum in Tibooburra. Natural and Cultural heritage is on display in the Visitor Centre next door.
Travellers are encouraged to plan their visit to remote parks by being mindful of large distances between facilities and services. Weather can be challenging too. Summer trips out this way are best left to experienced remote travellers. Always carry extra water and food. If you encounter car troubles or become lost ALWAYS stay with your vehicle. It is easier to spot a car than a person from a search vehicle or plane. That said, we hope your visit is incident free. Prepare and ensure your vehicle & tyres are in top condition and have plenty of supplies and you’ll be well on your way to a fun and memorable holiday.

Narriearra Caryapundy Swamp National Park
A new edition to the national park estate, this park is huge! Over 150,000 hectares of land incorporating former pastoral stations Teurika, Connulpie Downs and Narriearra. The natural and cultural conservation values of this park are equal to its size. Keep your eyes peeled for the illusive grey grass wren, a favourite of visiting bird watchers.

Sturt National Park
Established in 1972 and added to in the 1980s, Sturt National Park is big. Former pastoral stations include Mount Wood, Olive Downs, Binera Downs, Fort Grey and Whitta Brinnah. Together these places make the park more than 300,000 hectares in size. Two prominent landscapes are featured. Stony downs to the east and dune fields to the west, heralding the desert that exists further west, beyond the park.

Tibooburra War Memorial Motel
Formerly the Bush Children’s War Memorial Hostel, established to accommodate remote and isolated children in the 1960s. This facility allowed kids to attend primary school with their peers and playmates.
This important community building has been thoughtfully refurbished to accommodate guests in comfort. The history of this building and how it came into being is a great part of Corner Country history. Check out the display in the hall for details.
Tibooburra Village Committee Inc oversees this facility and grounds on behalf of the community. Income feeds back into the community for this and other great community projects.

Sturt National Park
Camping & Exploring
The Park has four campgrounds, each nestled in their distinct landscape. Dead Horse Gully is about two kilometres north of Tibooburra. Mount Wood campground is 27 km east. Olive Downs campground is 55 km north and Fort Grey campground is 120 km west. Pets and fires not permitted. Park entry and camp fees apply.
